MH-FLOCKE is BSFZ-certified
There’s a new seal in the footer. Here’s what it means.
The Bescheinigungsstelle Forschungszulage (BSFZ) certifies research and development projects under Germany’s Forschungszulagengesetz. Certification requires demonstrating three criteria: novelty (the work advances the state of knowledge), uncertainty (the outcome is not known in advance), and systematic approach (the work follows a documented research methodology).
Both phases of the MH-FLOCKE project passed that review. The research takes place in a small sole proprietorship — alongside regular client work, without a team, without institutional backing.
MH-FLOCKE is a biologically inspired AI system for embodied movement. Not a chatbot, not a language model — an artificial nervous system that develops locomotion from its own experience, independent of the hardware it runs on. It runs counter to the prevailing AI mainstream: no large-scale compute, no cloud infrastructure, no proprietary hardware. Low-cost platforms, minimal resources, biological principles.
The seal is not an award. It is a formal confirmation that genuine research and development is taking place here.
