About this project

MH-FLOCKE is an independent research project in biologically grounded embodied AI. The project explores whether a simulated quadruped robot (Unitree Go2 in MuJoCo) can develop genuine sensorimotor understanding through spiking neural networks, cerebellar forward models, and central pattern generators — without conventional reward engineering.

The project is named after Flocke, a dog who passed away, and Mogli, the current companion. Both served as a reminder that biological intelligence emerges from embodied experience, not from optimization objectives.

MH-FLOCKE is developed solely by Marc Hesse in Potsdam, Germany. The research builds on over 20 years of experience in software development and a deep interest in computational neuroscience. The project is not affiliated with any university or corporation.
